Parade Raises $16k in Memory of Clint Later

On October 1, the TP Trucking Walk n’ Roll Parade of Superheroes raised $16,597 for pediatric oncology services at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. Led by Ray and Mariah Later in memory of their son, the event was a huge success in its first year.

Medford-born Clint (aka CU Later) was a vibrant light, full of love for everyone and everything. In 2017, everything changed in his life. After a trip to see his pediatrician and an emergency room visit at Asante Rogue Regional, it was discovered that Clint had a mass on his liver. Clint and his family soon learned that he had Hepatoblastoma (liver cancer) and treatment began.

After four rounds of chemotherapy, the mass was not shrinking, so it was determined that Clint needed a liver transplant. In April 2017, Clint got his new liver and was thriving until he had to complete the final two rounds of chemotherapy to ensure the cancer was gone from his body. Sadly, Clint faced side effects that his body couldn’t overcome. Clint passed peacefully October 12, 2017. He was 5 years old.

Jennifer Feaster, former TP Trucking employee, spearheaded the event planning and expressed how grateful she was for the opportunity to make a difference: “After I found out this was something my coworker, Ray, had gone through, I just wanted to get Clint’s story out there to raise more awareness to support families battling childhood cancer.”

When coming by to deliver the generous donation, the Laters’ told us they are proud their son has continued to inspire and change peoples’ lives. Clint’s legacy will ensure that local children battling illness continue to receive high quality, compassionate care – close to home.
